Midwifery and Sexuality

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the first Open Access book on the subject of “Midwifery and Sexuality” after 4½ years in the making.

The book was edited by Sam Geuens, Ana Polona Mivšek, and Woet.L. Gianotten.

Woet is a much-appreciated and respected friend and was on the Executive Committee of WAS from 2009-2013.

He is a retired MD-psychotherapist (emeritus Senior Lecturer in Medical Sexology at the University Medical Centres of Utrecht and Rotterdam, the Netherlands), and an experienced teacher and trainer for medical sexology / sexual medicine in the Netherlands and internationally.

This book is now available for download, and readers can access either the complete book or individual chapters free of charge. Alternatively, readers can order a hardcover paper copy for their personal library.

The book is a valuable resource for midwives and healthcare professionals working in sexual and reproductive health.

It explores a range of topics, including the role of midwives in promoting healthy sexuality, managing sexual problems during pregnancy, and providing care for diverse populations. In addition, the book provides an in-depth analysis of current research and best practices and offers practical guidance for midwives and other healthcare providers.

We are sure you will find the book an engaging and informative read, and we encourage you to share it with your colleagues and students.
